Grant Application - GoingUP

Project name:
GoingUP

Description:
GoingUP is a collaboration platform and an on-chain reputation scoring system for professionals in the crypto space.

We are solving problems linked to pseudonymous & fake identities facilitating

collaboration, career growth and improving accountability and trustworthiness

in web3.

Vision:
To built trustworthiness in the web3 industry

Problem:

An increasing number of anonymous profiles in the crypto space are untrustworthy and are stealing.
We are solving the trust issue that is common in web3 by rewarding and enabling users to build their reputation based on achievements, interactions and contributions. We will use your on-chain track record of past interactions, formal and informal roles, connections and awards to create a reputation score and a clear and on-chain proved overview of your capabilities. Even informal work, which is common amongst contributors and new starters, can be accounted for as we will enable users to offer tokens of appreciation.

Solution/Product:
Our solution is typically intended to be used by independent NFT artists looking for trustworthy Web3 developers, by investors doing their due diligence, by web3 projects looking for marketers with experience in building communities and by Millennial and Genz users new to the crypto space looking to join our fantastic industry and in need to build their reputation.

*Describe the project in detail:
We are focused on providing value to web3 communities and increasing collaboration, transparency and trustworthiness to drive more innovation in the space.
We are going to build a new standard for professional identity on-chain.
Providing an on-chain reputation that is owned by the user’s wallet, and that can be grown through tokens of appreciation from peers and smart contracts track records.
Create value, gamify and reward people for their effort in a way that creates incentives for people to be good with one another and reward active members of the community.

We are an inclusive product and we want to encourage women and minorities to build their web3 reputation regardless of their origin and background.

Hey thanks for your submission! We (grants committee) will be discussing this in our next meeting. For now I have a few questions though

  • Most DAO contributions right now are off-chain, for example design work, content creation, code contribution… how does GoingUP account for or verify these types of work?
  • Another idea I had might be using something like Coordinape rewards as a proxy for good work. Even if the proof of work itself is not on-chain, the fact that the workers peers allocated them tokens might serve as testament for good work
  • Do you have plans in the roadmap to integrate with other bounty platforms like Gitcoin or Layer3, who have onboarded DAOs and contributors already?

Thank you for the comments and feedback. Using chain proof of work is fine, by gifting tokens of appreciation to someone, 2 collaborators link themselves and somehow engage their reputation. So, your intuition is correct. Just as informal work doesn’t need to be formalized and cannot be captured by our solution at the moment, using tokens of appreciation would still enable users to reward their peers for their achievements.
We are considering integrating with other bounty platforms later on.

Hi Mark, Stephania and Benoit,

The members of Meta Gamma Delta DAO want to thank you for your recent grant application submission. The decision-making process was difficult as we had a variety of powerful groups and organizations interested in a limited amount of grant dollars.

Unfortunately, your application was not selected for funding at this time. However, we would really appreciate you keeping us posted on further development and growth and hope you apply again in the future. Membership to Meta Gamma Delta DAO is always open should you be interested and in general, we look forward to connecting in the metaverse!
